Electrifying Pit Stops: Why Buc-ee’s is the Ultimate Destination for Tesla Owners

It’s no secret that Buc-ee’s gas stations are one of the most highly spoken of travel centers on United States highways, and for good reason. Not only does the travel stop offer everything from road snacks and souvenirs, to countless gas pumps and the “cleanest restrooms in America,” according to a 2012 Cintas contest. But the automotive industry is changing, and with it comes the ever-growing demand for electric charging stations.

Not surprisingly, Buc-ee’s also has this growing need covered, with 25 locations featuring Tesla SuperChargers, and more to come. Most of these locations are in Buc-ee’s home state of Texas, but can also be found in South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida and Alabama. The latest Buc-ee’s store to open, the very first in Colorado, also boasts a Tesla SuperCharger charging station.

With Tesla SuperChargers offering up to a 200-mile charge in just 15 minutes, your time at Buc-ee’s may be short, but while you’re there you can check out everything the nationally acclaimed convenience store has to offer. Personally, we’d go for a cinnamon roll and the famed Beaver Nuggets –a puffed corn snack that comes in varieties from sweet and salty, to cheesy and spicy – but their beef jerky section, sandwich shop and shelves of knickknacks, shirts and kids toys are also worth checking out. Just walking around the store will also get you closer to your daily step goal, as Buc-ee’s are known to be massive both inside and out.

In addition to Tesla SuperChargers, the Leeds, Alabama Buc-ee’s location also offers a Universal DC Fast Charger. Those of you who have friends with Mercedes-Benz electronic vehicles might also be interested to know that in 2024, Mercedes has partnered with Buc-ee’s to start building a number of EV charging hubs at locations across the country, with nearly 30 slated to be installed by the end of the year.

Once your SuperCharge is done, don’t let that be the last of your Buc-ee’s experience. Before getting on the road, you can check out the premium car wash – or the world record-holding longest car wash if you’re at the Katy, TX location – for a top-notch clean at a fair price.

Trust us – going to Buc-ee’s is a true experience, and with plenty of SuperChargers to go around at their EV-friendly locations, why not stop and see the fuel station with a cult-like following for yourself?
